Just booked a bed and breakfast for our trip to Oregon in July. I originally found it on the travel section of the Chicago Tribune (where else?) http://www.chicagotribune.com/travel/la-tr-goodhotels-pg,0,5387862.photogallery
(Image 10 and 11)
It is the only bed and breakfast we have booked so far and I hope to book maybe one or two more on our trip so I can report back on them.
Heceta Head Lighthouse can be found here: http://www.hecetalighthouse.com/bed_breakfast/
We will be staying in the Victoria room and while it doesn’t have views of the ocean, I do not doubt that we will be able to hear the ocean. We will have views of the wooded hillside and the gardens, which I’m sure are lovely. There is also a seven-course breakfast. What can be better than that?
I am very happy that after I found it on the Trib and then researched it online that we were able to get a room even if it’s just for one night. And apparently, from these reviews, seeing the lighthouse at night is supposed to be some magical moment. So I’m looking forward to finding out what that is all about.
I will definitely update when we have stayed there. In the meantime, I do have some catching up to do on other b & b’s we’ve stayed at. Stay tune.
